Residential

Faced with water issues in the shower that resulted in mould eating away the plaster and mushrooms growing between the tiles, it was necessary to fix the problem quickly. It also provided the opportunity for the owners to update the bathroom’s floor plan. A much larger shower and creating a “his and hers” bathroom was priority.

We chose to keep the existing built-in vanity unit with Terrazzo marble bench top, but replaced the basin with a more contemporary option that mimicked the existing spa bath; we also selected a new mixer tap. The built-in unit was painted black and as it offered plenty of storage, one of the bottom cupboards was transformed into a dirty washing hamper.

Extra Terrazzo marble around the spa made way for floor to ceiling tiles right through the bathroom, and the old bath tap set was updated to a mixer tap and a handheld hose with a mixer.

As part of the “his and hers” brief, the shower was fitted with an overhead rain shower for him, and a wall-mounted adjustable hose for her.

As well as appropriate and stylish general- and task-lighting, the mood lighting installedmcaters for the different personalities – feature pendant lights on dimmers for her, and LED waterproof lighting in the shower for him. A waterproof TV to watch the sports channel while soaking in the spa finished off his wish list, while the heated towel rail concluded hers.
